Creativity Applied Differently

There is no doubt that those with a creative mind, include some of the most brilliantly, talented individuals of all time. We know that the right-hand side of the brain contains our ability to think conceptually, creatively and with empathy. Whereas the left is where our more analytic, logical thoughts and ideas derive.

How many of you agree that we are seeing unprecedented times of conflict and problems? Yet, seemingly the people who dictate our futures simply pour fuel upon the fire, as the unrelenting tide of problems swell. Well, that is not meant to sound negative or defeated, but in such times we all look for something different to ‘distract’ us and provide hope. Often it is in creative exploits that we find the answer.

Equally, the majority of advancements of our time have involved creativity in one or more aspects. I will explain further, in that even when something technological is created, there is a strong element of creativity involved to make that concept happen. What if creativity could be utilised to SOLVE some of the current problems?

POEM – WAR (Why Arrogance Ruled?)

Why cannot man ever see,

war profits no one ultimately?

Fathers and sons will always die,

whilst mothers sit alone to cry.

Man was given the gift of tongues,

but where has this voice now gone.

We say we are somehow superior,

Arrogance filled with fists we fight on.

This time on earth is full of pain,

Ruled by few who love money and gain.

It is time to transform this planet,

back to a place where love and friendship… are organic

POEM – The Conflict Tree

The Conflict Tree 

Differences are actually interesting.

they mean we are unique.

Each one of us is special,

in a multitude of ways.

A rich man may own a Rolls Royce,

a poor man just a Ford;

but that doesn’t pose a problem,

as out there it’s a great big world.

These differences can make us alter,

changing our personalities from inside.

The wealth can give us power,

over others to selfishly preside.

INEQUALITY will breed within us,

as will injustice and rage.

We pull at our values and morals,

to try to exercise restraint.

Each day the pressure keeps building,

as differences are pointed out.

Some things are better unmentioned,

no need to classify this way.

The eyes should just see the person,

and not race, religion, straight or gay.

This is the way the conflict commences,

and like a tree takes stature, each and every day.

The Conflict Tree

“I wanted to tackle some issues that were recurring in my mind, for example what causes conflict. Every day, there seems to be more conflict in the world, be it with war, disputes, breakdown in relationships and marriage, arguments and so on. However, my thoughts reverberated with whether people actually step outside the box to consider why there is conflict and what causes it? We cannot learn, if we don’t understand.”
